WHY LAOS?

The international monetary fund indicates the ASEAN area as the only area of the world that substantially maintains the trends of
pre-crisis growth despite the halving of global GDP. Laos' GDP growth rate is estimated at 4.0% in 2023 and 2024 according to the Asian Development Bank. Laos, with just under 8 million inhabitants, has a geographical extension equal to half the size of Italy.
Agriculture and availability of water give Laos an important advantage for the international supply of food, fruit and animal husbandry, primarily to the nearby Chinese market but not only. The Government has given priority to the development and consolidation of manufacturing. There are large work spaces in the energy, environmental defense and infrastructure sectors with great potential for Italian suppliers in the sector. The consolidation of a middle class and the strong development of the capital Vientiane and other cities, the recovery of tourism after the pandemic, opens up ample space for Made in Italy products in the furniture and household products sector. As well as in the machinery and construction products sector.
