In 2023, Da Nang city's economy surpassed 134.247 billion VND, marking a significant increase of 9.728 billion VND compared to the previous year.

 

The economic structure shows the dominance of the service sector, accounting for 70.34% of the economy, followed by the industrial and construction sector at 18.50%. Notably, administrative activities, support services, and other service industries experienced substantial growth rates, contributing to the city's economic expansion.

Da Nang maintains its position as a leading economic hub in the Central Key Economic Region and among centrally run cities nationwide.

The Central Key Economic Region comprises five provinces/cities: Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh. This area plays a pivotal role in marine economic development and coastal economic activities, offering significant potential for integration and global engagement.

 

With an average GRDP growth rate of 6.42% per year from 2016 to 2020, surpassing the national average, this area demonstrates strong economic vitality. The government outlines a strategic plan for the North Central and Central Coast regions until 2030, aiming for rapid, sustainable development and leadership in the marine economy by 2050, alongside the development of modern, green, and resilient infrastructure and urban systems.
